Southwestern Yacht Club Hosts U.S. Disabled Sailing Championship
October 26-28, 2012 on San Diego Bay
Southwestern Yacht Club (SWYC) will host US Sailing’s National Disabled Sailing Championship for the first time in San Diego. The Regatta is administered by the U.S. Disabled Sailing Championship Committee and designated a Grade 1 event.
SWYC has recently opened a beautiful new facility, and has a long tradition of sailing, racing, and providing race committees many times a year.
The races will be held in the San Diego Harbor between Shelter / Harbor Islands and Coronado Island. There are three types of boats with four fleets:
Capri 22 (3 crew), Martin 16 (2 crew), 2.4m (1 crew), and Martin16 (2 crew).
Schedule of Events (subject to change):
Wednesday, October 24 Early Registration: 1500–1800
Thursday, October 25 Registration, Rolex On-Water Racing Clinic: 1000–1400
Competitors Meeting: 1600–1700
Welcome Cookout: 1800
Friday, October 26 Continental Breakfast: 0800–1000
Daily racing: 1200–1600
Commodore's Reception at SWYC: 1800-2000 - Dinner Included
Saturday, October 27 Continental Breakfast: 0800–1000
Daily racing: 1200–1600
Sunday, October 28 Continental Breakfast: 0800–1000
Daily racing: 1200–1600
Awards Banquet: 1830–2100

REMINDER: Classes that do not have a minimum of 5 entries by 9-21-12 will be cancelled. Development fleets must have a minimum of 3.

All championship competitors must possess current IFDS classification. Opportunities for IFDS classification may be available, but prior arrangements must be made by the competitor.
Entries fees are $150 per sailor and are due by 8/31/12 for all competitors chartering a boat through Southwestern Yacht Club. The $150 fee per sailor for all other competitors is due no later than 9/30/12. Any entry received after its due date will be subject to late fee of $50. Any entry received after 9/1/12 may make a team ineligible for travel or lodging subsidies should such subsidies become available.
