Southwestern Yacht Club
2010 Construction Progress
Southwestern Yacht Club is almost finished with the construction of the new clubhouse! The construction is on course to be finished by Opening Day: May 2, 2010.
A 20-minute limited tour of the new Clubhouse is slated for March 12 beginning at 6 p.m. prior to the Special Meeting of the Membership. To sign up please contact the Front Office at 619.222.0438.
The improvement to the property was required by the Port District to extend our lease for another 40 years. Demolition of the old clubhouse began on February 11.
Notice: March 17 - Parking Lot Paving
Begins
The grading and paving of the parking is
scheduled to start on March 17th. This will be accomplished in
four phases. Phase 1 will impact the Northern third of the parking
lot. Phase 2 will be in the middle of the parking in front of the
clubhouse. Phase 3, will be the southern end. Phase 4, will
encompass the small boatyard and the area now occupied by the
temporary clubhouse.
Since the clubhouse will have to be moved,
this is not scheduled until April 27th. Although this will be
done in phases to allow access and parking to members, there are
times you may not be able to access the parking lot or docks.
During this period of time, please car pool whenever possible and
park on adjacent streets. Since the SBY & temporary clubhouse will
remain open during paving of the main parking lot, the small dock
will be available for extended docking of dinghies, so that you
can access your vessels via the waterways. Please be aware this
schedule may change due to inclement weather.
NO EXTENDED PARKING
WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 17TH TO MARCH 30TH.
I ask all Liveaboards to limit their parking to only ONE car
during this same period of time. If you have any questions,
please contact me or the front office.
Thank you,
Bill Campbell,
Port Captain
