Juniors can improve their skills with our year-round program consisting of after-school sailing September through November and February through May, along with numerous regattas, sailing clinics and fishing tournaments. Check out the calendar of events that interest you and sign-up today.

Instructors are available beginning at 3:00 p.m. on these days.

Junior Program Fundraisers are happening all year round and we want to get everyone movin and grovin.
AFTER SCHOOL SAILING: Instructors are available beginning at 3:00 p.m. on these days. Practice usually last until dark, the wind dies, or 6:00 p.m. which ever comes first. Instruction is provided for beginners through racing. Participation is optional and is not required to sail or participate in regattas. Sabot sailors, and CFJ/Laser sailors meet every Friday. The cost applies whether you attend 1 or all session practices.

SABOT RACING: With a full race calendar in the Southern California area, we encourage this group to participate as much as possible. In addition to after school practices there are clinics and group activities as well as coaching. Focus is on maintaining competitive sailing skills and developing regatta performance. Sportsmanship will is emphasized. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
NON RACING SAILORS: We want to encourage those non-racing sailor to continue their sailing through out the year. Club boats may be check-out trough the Junior Office and reservations are encouraged but not always guaranteed.
LASER AND DOUBLEHANDED RACING: Focus will be in improving competitive sailing skills and regatta performance. Sportsmanship will be emphasized. Practices will be held after school on Fridays. Emphasis will be on boat handling, fleet and team racing, s well as participation in traveling regattas and clinics.
HIGH SCHOOL SAILING : SWYC currently hosts two scholastic teams . Many high schools in the area have students interested in competitive sailing. See the Director about joining or starting a team. Established teams are encouraged to make arrangements in advance to ensure boats are available for practices.
FISHING : SWYC Anglers have tournament calendar that is open to juniors for participation. Awards are given for individual tournaments and at the end of the year. Juniors should contact our juniors director if they desire to participate in a tournament. --------------------
